Doctor's Credentials

Dr. Gary Demerjian

Dr. Demerjian is an expert in Neuroanatomy, Pain Patterns, Trigger Points, the Trigeminal Branch/Nerve and how it correlates to Neurologic Disorders. He has published several articles and research papers including how the trigeminal system is conncected to neurologic disorders.

Temporomandibular Joint and Airway Disorders

Co-Author: Temporomandibular Joint and Airway Disorders

Examines key translational research relating to temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs) Discusses
the clinical effectiveness of treatment interventions from the perspective of evidence-based dentistry
Elucidates the relationships between dental malocclusions, signs and symptoms of TMDs, and
  airway/breathing disorders

Expertise

Dr. G. Gary Demerjian started his practice in 1990. Since 2004, he has focused his practice on the treatment of TMJ Disorders, Headaches, Facial Pain, Sleep Apnea and Movement Disorders. He did research at UCLA School of Dentistry, Department of Oral Biology as a Project Scientist and has published several articles, research papers and a book in the field of TMJ and Airway Disorders. Dr. Demerjian’s research focus was on how the trigeminal nerve is connected to neurologic and movement disorders such as Cervical Dystonia. His philosophy is to develop and utilize non-surgical TMJ treatments to treat and manage the jaw joints long term without making permanent Dental bite changes or recommending surgery. Along with two busy practices, Dr. Demerjian also lectures on topics in Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and its correlates on neurologic disorders.

Technology

Dr. Demerjian currently treats adolescents and adults with tmj/mpd-mayofascial pain disorders using custom fabricated orthotic appliances, myriad of therapeutic techniques and orthodontics. His sleep-disordered breathing treatments utilize using multiple dental sleep appliances and therapeutic techniques. He also treats patients suffering from neurologic disorderswith dental management of the disorder through his TMJ treatments. He has published several articles and research papers including how the trigeminal system correlates to neurologic disorders.
